How the upload-before-payment journey works
Payment stays hidden until AI processing finishes and a protected blurred preview is ready.
-
Choose a country format
Select one of the listed passport, visa, or generic ID portrait formats.
-
Upload your source photo
Use even light, a plain background, a level camera, and a natural neutral expression.
-
Process and preview
The site processes the unpaid draft and shows only a protected low-resolution blurred preview. Checkout remains hidden until this succeeds.
-
Choose and pay
Select the one-time or optional monthly plan and complete secure Stripe Checkout.
-
Unlock, download, or delete
A verified Stripe event unlocks the already processed full-resolution PNG. Download it or delete the job and files.
Prepare a clear selfie
These checks improve the starting photo without predicting whether an issuer will accept it.
- Face a window or another soft, even light source; avoid strong light from behind.
- Stand in front of a plain background with visible contrast around your hair and shoulders.
- Hold the camera level with your eyes and keep your full head and upper shoulders in frame.
- Look straight at the lens with a natural, neutral expression and keep both eyes visible.
- Avoid beauty filters, portrait blur, harsh shadows, and edits that change facial features.
- Check the issuer's current instructions for glasses, head coverings, dimensions, and submission channel before applying.
Photo, retention, and deletion limits
An uploaded photo is stored as an opaque unpaid draft and sent to BytePlus ModelArk for processing. Before payment, the browser receives only a server-generated low-resolution blurred derivative.
The result screen includes an application delete action that removes the job's stored input and result objects.
Portrait Path does not use customer photos to train its own model. BytePlus remains the third-party AI processor.
